Toyota’s official global releases report Lexus sales rather than registrations, production, deliveries or the number of vehicles in operation. On that basis, Lexus reached a reported global high in 2025 after consecutive strong results in 2023 and 2024.

Period Worldwide Lexus sales Reported comparison
2021 760,012 106% of 2020
2023 824,258 132% of 2022

The company reported 2024 sales at 103.3% of the previous year’s result, while 2025 sales were reported at 104% of 2024. These percentages are company-reported comparisons, not independently recalculated growth rates.

Lexus’s 2023 result was reported at 132% of 2022, and 2021 sales were 106% of 2020. The releases use annual January–December periods, so these figures describe full-year worldwide sales.

Lexus Sales Statistics by Major Region

North America was the largest named regional market in the 2024 global table, followed by Asia. China is also listed within Toyota’s Asia presentation and should not be added as a separate region to the Asia total.

Geography 2023 sales 2024 sales 2025 sales
North America 355,606 379,589 408,070
Asia 236,587 237,335 237,946

Central and South America — — 4,684

The regional rows use Toyota’s published groupings. China appears inside the Asia grouping, while East Asia is a reported subregion, so the categories are not all additive.

In 2021, Toyota reported approximately 332,000 Lexus vehicles sold in North America and approximately 227,000 in China, with China described as a record high. Both figures retain Toyota’s approximately qualifier and are estimates rather than exact counts.

Lexus Electrified-Vehicle Statistics and Adoption

Toyota and Lexus define electrified vehicles here as hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and battery-electric vehicles. The measure is therefore broader than battery-electric adoption alone.

Geography and period Electrified result
Worldwide, 2021 Approximately 260,000 vehicles; 110% of 2020
Worldwide, 2023 47% of Lexus sales
Worldwide, 2024 52% of Lexus sales; sales increased 19% year over year
Europe, 2024 80,088 vehicles; 91% of sales
Western Europe, 2024 99% of sales
Eastern Europe, 2024 38% of sales

Electrified vehicles accounted for 52% of worldwide Lexus sales in January–December 2024, compared with 47% in 2023. The Europe newsroom’s global summary also reports a 19% increase in Lexus electrified-vehicle sales in 2024 versus 2023; this is not a BEV-only measure.

Europe’s mix was higher than the worldwide result: electrified vehicles represented 91% of European Lexus sales, totaling 80,088 vehicles. Within the company-defined European scopes, the share reached 99% in Western Europe and 38% in Eastern Europe.

The 2021 worldwide figure was approximately 260,000 electrified vehicles, reported at 110% of the previous year’s level. Because Toyota uses “approximately,” it should be treated as an estimate.

Lexus Europe Sales Statistics and Premium-Market Position

The Lexus Europe newsroom reports a 2024 European sales total of 88,184 vehicles, up 20% from 2023. Toyota’s separate global regional table reports 82,571 European sales for the same calendar year, reflecting different Europe scopes.

Europe measure 2024 result Definition or scope
Lexus Europe newsroom sales 88,184 vehicles Europe newsroom market table
Lexus Europe sales change 20% increase 2024 versus 2023
Premium-market share 2.5% Europe premium market
Electrified Lexus sales 80,088 vehicles HEV, PHEV and BEV
Toyota and Lexus combined 1,217,132 vehicles Toyota Motor Europe

The 80,088 electrified vehicles equal 91% of the 88,184 European sales table total in the same release. That ratio belongs to the Europe newsroom scope and should not be applied to Toyota’s separate 82,571-unit global table.

Lexus held a 2.5% share of Europe’s premium market in 2024. The denominator is the company’s stated premium-market definition, so the figure is not a share of all European vehicle sales.

Toyota Motor Europe’s 2024 combined Toyota and Lexus sales were 1,217,132 vehicles. This is a combined-brand figure, not a Lexus-only result.

Lexus Europe Model Sales Statistics

The 2024 Europe model table shows a range led by the NX and LBX, with additional volume from the RX and UX. Variant figures below are components of their respective model totals and should not be added to the model total as separate vehicles.

NX Hybrid 16,841
NX PHEV 9,182
LBX Hybrid 23,018
RX total 13,772

The NX total was 26,635 vehicles, including 16,841 NX Hybrids and 9,182 NX PHEVs in the company table. The LBX Hybrid recorded 23,018 European sales, making it another major named model in the release.

The RX total was 13,772 vehicles, including 6,215 hybrids and 4,427 plug-in hybrids. The UX total was 10,959 vehicles, including 8,841 hybrids and 1,860 battery-electric vehicles.

The table also reports 4,001 RZ BEV sales, 5,136 ES sales, 2,384 LX sales, 1,011 LM Hybrid sales and 618 GX sales. These are model-level Europe figures for January–December 2024.

Historical Lexus Sales and Model-Scale Data

The 2023 regional results provide a baseline for interpreting the later global records. North America recorded 355,606 sales, Asia 236,587, China 181,411, Japan 94,647, Europe 69,202 and the Middle East 46,472.

The historical data also includes two cumulative or approximate measures that are different from annual sales. The Lexus GX had approximately 540,000 cumulative worldwide sales through the end of March 2023, while 2021 regional figures for North America and China were reported approximately.

The GX cumulative figure is a model-history measure, not a January–December result. It should not be compared directly with the annual worldwide Lexus totals without preserving that difference in definition and period.
